Job DescriptionSummary The Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of disabilities, injuries, rehabilitation, and diseases as related to functional impairments. The Physical Therapist uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to promote functional independence and improve quality of life.
Responsibilities - Evaluates and treats disabilities, injuries, and diseases as related to functional impairments
- Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving manual arts and crafts, practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities, directing aides, technicians, and assistants
- Uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to promote functional independence and improve the quality of life for the patient
- Delegates the plan of care to assistive personnel and monitors quality of care
- Evaluates results of physical therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Education / Experience Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
- Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required, Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred
- 2 years of physical therapist experience preferred
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Florida
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required

ResponsibilitiesResponds to physician orders for physical therapy. Administers and interprets tests and measurements of patients. Reviews patient charts and progress prior to treatment and modifies treatment plan accordingly. Develops functional goals based on patient and/or family expectations. Develops, improves, and restores functional mobility, seeking to return patient to highest level of independence. Seeks clarification of physician orders as needed.
QualificationsEducation:Required: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
Preferred: Doctorate Physical Therapy
Experience:Preferred: 2 years as a practicing PT in a healthcare setting
Certifications:Required: State Licensure
