About the Veterinary Technician - Emergency Overnight Role

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a Veterinary Nurse (Veterinary Technician) with at least two years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine to work in our Emergency Department.

Schedule and Compensation

Schedule: 8 pm - 8 am Thursday-Saturday

Compensation: From $27.50/hr this includes shift differential

What You’ll Do

Triage – identify emergencies and illnesses
Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
Administer medications
Assist in procedures
Position and capture of radiographs
Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients

Requirements

Two or more years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine
Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.
Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
Proficient computer skills
