About the Job:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Care Specialist (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) to join our team. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will provide expert-level veterinary care to companion animals, focusing on area of specialization if applicable, e.g., internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, etc. This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to utilize your specialized knowledge and skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized veterinary medical and/or surgical care to companion animals within your area of expertise.
- Consult with referring veterinarians and provide expert guidance on complex cases.
- Develop and implement advanced diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Educate clients on their pets' conditions, treatment options, and preventative care.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine within your specialty.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards of veterinary practice.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted veterinary license.
- Advanced training or certification in a specific area of veterinary medicine.
- Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills (if applicable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
