Job Summary and Qualifications

• Obtains a complete nursing assessment on all patients.
• Responsible for ongoing clinical management of the patient, promotes and participates in patient education and teaching and administers medications, and IV therapy, and performs venipunctures.
• Promotes cost containment while delivering quality patient care within the surgical services department.
• Maintains accurate and legible documentation to ensure accountability for assessments and patient plan of care and accurate patient charging.
• Pursues own professional growth through continuing education and inservices and provides leadership.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with peers, supervisors, ancillary departments and all other external/internal customers.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
• One year previous successful experience in critical care nursing or successful experience in a post anesthesia care unit
